Lyngby Boldklub are trialling former Bundesliga midfielder Kevin Möhwald. The 33-year-old free agent has been training with the squad since Tuesday, the club confirmed.
"The former Werder Bremen and Union Berlin player is being closely studied in Lyngby," the club said. Möhwald featured in a training match against Hvidovre IF on Saturday, coming on as a substitute for Cornelius Allen at right-back. The match ended in a 3-4 defeat for Lyngby, mirroring the scoreline from their official league meeting with Hvidovre on October 3rd.
The club, sitting 10th in the Superliga with seven points, is looking to strengthen. Möhwald brings experience from 67 Bundesliga appearances and eight goals for clubs including Werder Bremen, FC Nürnberg, and Union Berlin. His most recent club was Belgian side KAS Eupen, where his contract expired this summer.
Coaches Andreas Bjelland and Mikkel Jespersen had the opportunity to assess him during the match at Bane 3. Lyngby have lost their last two matches and face a challenging away fixture against 5th-placed Brøndby on October 11th.
Möhwald's trial continues as the club decides on a potential deal.
