Lyngby Boldklub threw away a certain victory in a crazy 3-3 draw with FC Nordsjælland in the 11th round of the Superliga. After leading 3-0 with 20 minutes left, the home side conceded three goals in six minutes but salvaged a point when Diego Kochen saved Nicklas Røjkjær's penalty in the final second.

The match started with a blow for Lyngby as Munashe Garananga was forced off injured after just seven minutes. Nevertheless, the hosts took charge and Simon Colyn, back from injury, opened the scoring with a fierce long-range drive after 17 minutes. Gustav Fraulo doubled the lead after 32 minutes, pouncing on a rebound after a save from FC Nordsjælland goalkeeper Andreas Hansen.

Frederik Gytkjær seemed to put the game to bed when he tapped in for 3-0 after 63 minutes. But then the match turned. FC Nordsjælland, who had made three halftime substitutions, pulled one back through Justin Janssen's header in the 71st minute. Runar Norheim made it 3-2 after 75 minutes, and debutant Malte Heyde completed an incredible comeback with 3-3 just two minutes later.

Stoppage time drama

In the dying seconds, referee Aydin Uslu awarded FC Nordsjælland a penalty after a VAR check. Nicklas Røjkjær stepped up, but Diego Kochen guessed correctly and saved with his leg, securing a point for Lyngby. "It's a feeling of having lost two points, but also an acknowledgement that we managed to save one point in an extreme situation," a Lyngby coach said after the match.

The point means Lyngby remain at the bottom of the standings with seven points from eleven games. They have now gone three matches without a win. Their next challenge is an away trip to face Viborg FF on Friday. The team will also hope the injury to Garananga is not serious, as he is a key part of the defence. With only one home win this season, the clash with Viborg becomes key to turn the tide.
