Lyngby Boldklub has secured a major signing, as Danish midfielder Rezan Corlu (27) is set to join Kristiansund Ballklubb. Corlu has signed a deal that will run until the 2026 season. - It's great to be here, and I'm ready for a new challenge, says Corlu. The coaching staff at KBK shows clearly that they want me and have a plan for me, and that was important when I made this decision. The way they want the team to play suits me very well, and I hope to contribute a lot on the pitch and in the team with my experience, says Corlu. Corlu is an offensive midfielder who played 37 games and scored 15 goals for Danish youth national teams from G16 to U20 level. - I like to make my teammates better. I have my strengths on small flats in front of the goal, can play goal-scoring passes and also score myself. It's about playing quickly with the ball in my feet, says Corlu. Corlu started his career at Brøndby, and was taken by the youth academy to AS Roma in the summer of 2017. There were no first-team games in Italy, and the following year Corlu went on loan to Lyngby, where he contributed to the club's promotion. He continued on loan in Lyngby for another season, while Brøndby bought him back from Roma. Corlu played for Brøndby in the 2020/21 season, when they took the league title. Lyngby took him permanently to the club in the summer of 2021. On Wednesday evening, he arrived at KBK's training camp in Marbella, where he underwent the medical test and signed the contract. - He has the qualities we have wanted in the team. He is technical, he plays well, scores himself and is a 'box opener' who can play the decisive passes to fast strikers. I will compare him with Marius Broholm and Liridon Kalludra. KBK should have players like that, says Eirik Hoseth, sports director at Kristiansund Ballklubb. KBK is well familiar with Corlu's qualities. The club tried to sign him on loan from Brøndby a few years ago, and assistant coach Magne Hoset knows him from his time at Lyngby. - We are careful when we bring players to KBK. It gives us an extra security when we know the player, says Eirik Hoseth.
